The food processor is the one kitchen appliance that we think most people can live without. We have a nice Cuisinart full sized model and a reasonably priced mini-chopper. We use the mini-chopper more than the full sized Cuisinart. We’re more likely to use a blender because it is easier to clean that the large food processor. If you enjoy cutting and chopping vegetables on a nice cutting board with a good knife then you should just skip the full sized food processor altogether. We would probably still recommend a reasonably priced mini-chopper.
